Job Description:
This role involves steering the school’s vision and mission, ensuring that the educational programs are innovative and reflect high standards. By fostering an environment that encourages professional growth among staff and intellectual stimulation among students, the President ensures that the institution not only meets but exceeds the expectations of all stakeholders. Also, balancing the intricacies of curriculum development, fiscal management, stakeholder engagement, and student welfare, this position is instrumental in shaping a nurturing and dynamic educational setting that prepares students for the challenges and opportunities of the future in the field of health sciences.
Required Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for the successful applicant are to hold a certificate in Education Administration from Alabama or any other state, but, if in another state, to require that person to obtain such certification in Alabama, a master’s level degree in Education from a recognized four–year college or university. 10 years’ experience minimum in public or private secondary education, with some experience in health sciences preferred. The successful candidate also must be qualified to be bonded by the school’s GLEO carrier and any other requirements of Alabama law.
The Board of Trustees is seeking the following qualities in the candidate:
- The ability to develop a vision for a solid school academically and financially,
- The ability to develop short and long-range planning goals;
- The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders;
- Has cognitive fiscal abilities.
Additional Information:
The base salary and benefits will be $180,000 to $250,000 based on experience and proven track record.

The finalist will be interviewed by the Board of Trustees for the Alabama School of Health Sciences. This interview will be public, in accordance with state law.
