Complaints about the Association

Any member who has a complaint connected with the Association should submit a signed complaint in writing to the Executive Director. If the Executive Director is unable to resolve the matter satisfactorily, the member lodging the complaint then is invited to refer the matter to the Board of Directors at its next scheduled meeting. The decision of the board shall be final.

Social Networking

Opinions, advice, statements, offers, links, materials and other information (together "Postings") may be generated by participants in AASB’s social networking domain, including Facebook, Twitter and other online sources (“Social Network”). Said Postings and do not necessarily reflect the views, policies or opinions of AASB and AASB is not responsible for the content of any Postings. No Postings are endorsed, adopted, or published by AASB unless explicitly stated otherwise by one of AASB authorized agents acting in an official capacity. AASB bears no responsibility for any Postings approved, edited, or rejected by AASB or its employees or agents.

When you log into or otherwise participate in AASB’s Social Network, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • You grant AASB the non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free unrestricted license (with the right to sub-license) to reproduce, distribute, publicly display and perform, adapt, translate, and modify your Postings in whole or in part in any form now known or later developed.
  • You will not use AASB’s Social Network to send chain letters, unsolicited advertising, or any other junk or bulk mail.
  • You will not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any information, files, code or other materials that are unlawful, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or libelous, or that are threatening, abusive, or harassing on the basis of an individual’s (or groups of individuals’) religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
  • You will not upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any information, files, code or other materials that contain viruses or are able to disrupt or damage AASB members’ software, hardware or equipment.
  • You acknowledge and agree that AASB has the right to delete, modify or supplement Postings or the content of AASB’s Social Network at any time for any reason without notification to anyone and to ban or restrict AASB’s Social Network users for any reason at anytime.

What information is collected by this website and why?

Certain “member correspondence and information” is sent to all members of the Alabama Association of School Boards based upon your board’s or organization’s acceptance of membership to the association. This information comes with membership and is not meant to be commercial but rather informative. Based on the information a user has provided, the Alabama Association of School Boards may send email correspondence to the user. Click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of newsletters to unsubscribe. To opt out of all member correspondence, you must email your request and fax a physical copy of your request to (334) 270-0000.
