2026 Webinar: All Eyes On Screentime

Screen time has become an increasingly important issue for schools as students spend more time on phones, tablets, computers and other digital devices.

As concerns grow about how screen use may affect student well-being, learning and development, school leaders are increasingly being asked to understand the research and consider what it means for their school systems.

Join us Thursday, September 17, from noon to 1 p.m., for our "All Eyes On Screen Time" webinar. Jeff Davis of Safe Screens Sound Minds will provide an overview of the research and statistics on screen time use among students, including what we know about its potential impact on youth and why screen time has become an important consideration for schools. Dr. Tracye Strichik of VOICES for Alabama's Children will then break down what the current legislation could mean for the future of your schools and what school board members may need to consider as new legislation moves forward.

Together, they'll connect the "why" behind the legislation with the "what now" for school systems, giving board members and superintendents practical context for understanding this emerging issue and its potential implications for school governance.
