2026 AASB Legislative Advocacy Day: Feb. 3

Districts 6, 7, 8 and 9 & CSFOs

Join us in Montgomery for AASB's 2026 Advocacy Days. Don't miss this opportunity to meet with your local legislators to discuss key issues impacting public education. You'll also learn how to sharpen your advocacy skills and have time to share information and network with colleagues from across the state.

Bring your CSFO! Advocacy Days also provide an excellent opportunity for chief school financial officers (CSFOs) to learn more about the legislative process and dive deeper into the Education Trust Fund Budget as well as AASB's School System Snapshots.

MEETINGS SCHEDULED BY YOU: Registered attendees must contact their lawmakers in advance to invite them to lunch here at AASB or set up one-one-one meetings at the State House. Additional details about scheduling these meetings will be sent to registrants.

AGENDA: Join us at the AASB office from 9 a.m. to noon, where AASB staff will lead an informative and interactive advocacy training. Then, enjoy lunch here at AASB with your invited lawmakers from noon to 1 p.m. Finally, we'll head over to the State House to view the legislative process in action and meet with lawmakers.

TRAINING HOURS: Attendees will earn 2 training hours for this free event. Participation fulfills the Advocacy Day requirement for the Master Honor Roll designation.

CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS: All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Tracey Meyer by email at tmeyer@alabamaschoolboards.org, or call 334.277.9700. Please note: A $25 fee will be charged for event no-shows who have not cancelled their registration.
