2020 Advocacy Days
10-Jan-2020
Spend a day in Montgomery with AASB staff during the Association's annual Advocacy Days, where you'll get an up-close view of the legislative process
and meet your lawmakers at the State House.
AASB is encouraging local board members from specific districts to attend an Advocacy Day together. We've designated special dates for each district; however,
board members may sign up to participate
Participants not only will earn two hours of training credit for participation in an Advocacy Day, but also will complete one of the criteria for attaining Master Honor Roll status.
New This Year!
New in 2020, we're excited to announce an opportunity for our experienced school board advocates to dig even deeper into the legislative process. On April 22 and May 6, we are offering Advocacy 2.0, during which participants will attend legislative committee meetings. This advanced experience is open to members who have attended an AASB Advocacy Day since 2015.
NOTE: Members may only earn up to 5 training hours total for advocacy day activities during a training year -- 2 for participating in an AASB Advocacy Day and 3 for participating in the NSBA Advocacy Institute.
