Yadira Chavez joined the Eufaula City school board in 2019 ready to serve Eufaula City schoolchildren. Yadira is fueled by her desire to help her community and is committed to bettering her school system every day.

Give us some background on yourself. What is your current occupation?
I am 41 years old and originally from Cuba. I have been in the United states for 21 years. I am a mother of two, Javier (14) and Emily (11). I moved to Eufaula 10 years ago pursuing a new business opportunity and fell in love with it! I currently own real estate properties and two restaurants here in Eufaula.
What inspired you to join the school board?
The desire to help the community was and still is my inspiration for joining the school board!
What do you enjoy most about being a school board member?
What I enjoy the most is the ability to help provide a better school system for all children.
What are some of your hobbies?
One of my hobbies is remodeling houses! It gives me the [opportunity] to be creative.
