Trent Kennedy joined the Walker County school board in 2018 and has earned Master level in the AASB School Board Member Academy. A proud supporter of the schools and students within his community, Trent is dedicated to ensuring every student receives the necessary tools to build a successful future.

Q: What is your current occupation?
A: I am currently a CT (Computed Tomography) technologist in the field of radiology.
Q: How long have you been on the school board?
A: I became a Walker County school board member in 2018 and am currently finishing up my first full term.
Q: What do you enjoy most about being a school board member?
A: Seeing our students excel! I try be there to always show my support.
Q: What is one lesson you've learned since becoming a board member?
A: That the role of an administrator is a truly a full-time job. It requires a lot of time and effort to make things run smoothly.
Q: Is there anything you are particularly proud of your board for accomplishing? Anything you’re looking forward to accomplishing with them?
A: I have recently been part of the purchase of a building along with 4.5 acres attached to our current campus. With the superintendent, my fellow board members and I working together, we were able to refurbish this building into a 38,650 square-foot, state-of-the-art indoor athletic facility— one of the largest in the state!
Q: What’s one piece of advice you would share with an incoming board member?
A: Be patient as you strive to make a better tomorrow for your students and staff. Have a servant's heart and always try to be present in the lives of your students and staff. Be their biggest supporter!
Q: Outside of working with the board, what are some of your hobbies?
A: Spending time with my beautiful wife and daughter along with deer and turkey hunting, and cheering on the Crimson Tide.

A: I truly care about my schools and community. I want to see them all have everything they need to be successful.

A: Never ever give up on your goals and let people see your passion !
