David Schutz joined the Geneva County school board in 2012. Since joining the board he has served on AASB's Equity Committee and achieved Level 3 in AASB's School Board Member Academy. David believes in doing all he can to help others!

Give us some background on yourself. What is your current occupation?
I am the president of the Schutz Insurance Agencies. Schutz Insurance Agency has six locations that spread across south Alabama. We insure homes, autos, farms and more.
I was inspired to join the Geneva County school board because...
I had the desire to serve our community through helping to improve our schools.
What is one thing you have learned while serving as a school board member?
I have learned that our society takes our schools, teachers and students for granted. School is important, and that should be a consistent theme from our schools, parents and communities.
Some of my hobbies include...
Camping, golfing and grilling!
What is a fun or interesting fact you would like to share about yourself?
I enjoy helping folks no matter what it is. I believe that you can make a difference in a person's life with the most simple of gestures.
