Fall Academy Core Conference: Leadership for Positive Climate and Culture

The climate and culture of a school plays a pivotal role in student achievement. A healthy school climate and culture creates the necessary conditions for effective teaching and learning to occur. 

AASB's Fall Academy Core Conference, Leadership for Creating Positive Climate and Culture, slated for Oct. 6 & 7 at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa, will feature expert speakers who will share strategies for developing high-quality learning environments that foster educational excellence. Attendees will earn up to six training hours for this core course in AASB's School Board Member Academy. View Schedule

AASB's transition to a new and improved membership database and event registration system is underway. During this transition, all event registrations and profile updates are being handled by board secretaries. You may also contact AASB for assistance with any event registration. 



2024 Fall Conference ($209) | Oct. 6 & 7  Please contact your board secretary to register.

Fall Conference Cancellations/No Shows:

- No cancellations after September 23, 2024.

- A $20 late fee will be applied to registrations after September 23, 2024.

- No shows will be charged the full conference registration fee. 




Post-Conference Workshop (2 hours) 

Extend your learning further and unlock the power of educational data in the Fall Post-Conference workshop, "Accountability Data Boot Camp for School Board Members." ALSDE Accountability Coordinator Dr. Marcus Vandiver will guide attendees through understanding and navigating State Report Cards and key student achievement data on the ALSDE's website. School Board members will gain the skills to access, interpret, and compare key achievement metrics to enhance informed decision making in their school systems. Earn two hours in the School Board Member Academy. Lunch is included.


Post-Conference Workshop ($109) | Oct. 7 | 12:45 to 2:45 p.m. - Please contact your board secretary to register.

Pink Day

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Wear your pink on Monday, Oct. 7 to show support for everyone affected by breast cancer on. AASB will be collecting donations for the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help fund vital research, support and outreach services, and breast cancer education programs that can save lives. Stop by the AASB registration desk to make a donation.
