Optimal Learning
Registration is now open for the fall AASB School Board Member Academy core course. Leadership to Create the Optimal Learning Environment will be taught Oct. 4 and 5 at The Renaissance Montgomery Hotel in downtown Montgomery. The conference will feature keynote speaker Elizabeth H. Huntley, J.D., who is of counsel for Lightfoot, Franklin & White and author of the motivating memoir More Than A Bird. Huntley, an acclaimed speaker on the power of excellent teachers in the lives of young children, will sign books at the conference. Dr. Tim Hodges, who will also deliver a presentation, is director of research for GALLUP’s Education Practice and is an expert on employee engagement. The conference is $149 for members and $290 for nonmembers. After the conference on Oct. 5, AASB will host a Friending Social Media Workshop ($99 for members and $199 for nonmembers).
